June 16th, 2025: Why are we passionate about Education?
Hello again,
This has been an incredible journey so far as we further entrench ourselves in the educational industry through our organization and I have got to say, it has been incredible thus far. The amount of individuals who are passionate about learning and finding the best solutions for their children have been some of the most enriching experiences I have personally seen and makes me very grateful to everyone who has followed our journey. I wanted to answer the question today of :
"Why is your organization so passionate about education?"
The answer is quite simple actually. To us, meaningful education has impacted each and every one of us in an individual and impactful way.
I wanted to share my personal story for this one. Years ago when I graduated high school I was lost and didn't have that much to look forward to. To put it lightly, I was kind of a juvenile delinquent with couple teachers at graduation remarking that they were surprised I wasn't in jail. I thought to myself often why people often looked down on me when at the end of the day I had already proven that even without silly curriculums, I could pass any AP exam I wanted to without trying. You see, despite me skipping classes and fooling around with friends, I ultimately did have a thirst for knowledge but I didn't have the guidance or aptitude to focus in on something that could be utilized to my benefit. I had saved months for the cost of the AP exams often skipping lunch to prove something yet I didn't know quite yet what it was for.
Fast forward couple years later, I was working menial jobs in construction with no support from anywhere figuring out what I wanted to do. It occurred to me that I was falling in the same habits that I once had and I needed a change. I enrolled into community college while working 3 jobs and I decided like most things in life I'd have to take a chance and my life forever changed. Education gave me structure and honed my focus into something I was passionate about. Ultimately, it rekindled my love for the arts in which I have my professors to thank for and allowed me to escape the perils of being a misguided youth.
Now speaking to you from the present day, I opened a tutoring organization with the intent of sharing that experience and the benefits of education in hopes that it can reach someone else like the way it did for myself. But of course like all things in life, nothing is perfect which in some sense, is the beauty of the educational journey. Sure you may stumble, but at the end comes a remarkably unique experience that was curated just for you.
Thank you
June 13th, 2025: Preventing Summer Slide
To help prevent the summer slide, one of the most effective strategies is to keep kids reading daily. Setting a reading goal of 20 to 30 minutes a day builds consistency and keeps literacy skills sharp. Families can join summer reading challenges at local libraries or through online platforms like Scholastic Summer Reading to make it more engaging. Encouraging children to read both fiction and nonfiction helps develop vocabulary and comprehension across subjects. Younger children benefit from reading aloud with an adult and discussing the story, while teens can take their reading further by journaling about books or writing reviews.
Math skills can also be maintained and strengthened with a blend of digital tools and real-world practice. Educational apps and websites like Khan Academy, Prodigy, IXL, and Bedtime Math offer interactive ways to keep up with grade-level concepts. Math can also be made practical and fun by involving children in everyday activities like measuring ingredients for recipes, creating a budget for a family outing, or comparing prices while shopping. Logic games and puzzles such as Sudoku, KenKen, and board games like Monopoly are great for practicing math without it feeling like homework.
Writing is another key area where kids can continue learning during the summer. Keeping a daily journal or gratitude log encourages self-expression and regular writing habits. Kids can also practice writing by sending postcards or letters to friends and relatives. Creative projects like starting a blog, drawing a comic strip, or tackling short story prompts once a week are great ways to foster imagination and improve writing fluency. These fun and flexible activities help kids retain skills and return to school confident and ready to learn.
June 9th, 2025: Making the Push
Why Enter the Tutoring Industry?
Since we have started this company, many people have asked us “why now” or “does this make sense?” To us, the mission has always been the same, which was to offer the best tutoring services that we can at anytime and any location of the customer’s choosing. A lot of the educational industry is focusing too much on what we believe is profit driven motives by undercutting key areas of education while not providing decent pay to educators which we are simply against. We want to build a more sustainable and competitive model of doing business while immediately benefiting our communities.
We take a look at something like PISA for example to see how we are performing in the US and we get these results:
PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) 2022:
Science: The US ranked 16th out of 81 participating countries and education systems. This places it above the OECD average.
Reading: The US ranked 9th globally and 6th among OECD countries. It scored above the OECD average.
Math: The US ranked 34th globally and 28th among OECD countries. This is below the OECD average. Note that US math scores have declined since 2018.
Fact of the matter is, we are not as competitive as we used to be and the results are showing in our communities. Far too long have educators been on the receiving end of substandard wages while budget cuts make the future murky for children who need education the most.
We want to be the ones who make the difference and since empty promises don’t guarantee anything, we decided to make the stand and take action since that is what we do best here at Tutoring Near Me.
Week of June 1st, 2025: Beginnings of Tutoring Near Me
When we set out to create Tutoring Near Me, our mission was clear: to build one of the most trusted and effective tutoring services available for students, parents, and educators alike. After years of witnessing the pitfalls of traditional models—unreliable quality, limited flexibility, and underpaid tutors—we realized there had to be a better path forward.
That path led to a different kind of platform, one that offers online tutoring, in-person support, and private tutoring options across a range of subjects like math, science, reading, and test prep for the SAT, ACT, GED, and more.
Student-Centered Learning That Works
We’ve built our company around personalized tutoring, because no two students learn the same way. Whether it’s algebra help, reading comprehension, or Spanish tutoring, we carefully match each student with a tutor who meets their academic and emotional needs.
We understand how difficult it can be to find reliable academic support, especially for working families. That's why we emphasize easy scheduling, ongoing progress reports, and direct communication with both parents and students.
Whether you’re searching for online math tutoring, ADHD tutoring, or dyslexia support, our network of experienced educators is ready to help students gain confidence and skills that last.
Tutors Deserve Better
Too many platforms offer tutoring jobs without offering real support. At Tutoring Near Me, tutors are the backbone of everything we do. We pay above industry standards, provide autonomy and resources, and give educators the respect they deserve.
We proudly offer remote tutoring jobs and in-home opportunities for qualified educators who want to make a meaningful impact—while earning a competitive wage and working with purpose.
A New Kind of Tutoring Company
For us, tutoring isn’t just a transaction—it’s a relationship built on trust, care, and long-term growth. Families don’t just get homework help; they get a partner in education. Tutors don’t just get gigs; they get support, recognition, and a real place to grow.
If you’re looking for free tutoring options, private instruction, or high-quality tutoring jobs near you, we’re here to make the process simple and rewarding—for everyone.
We built this company to be better for students, better for parents, and better for tutors. And we’re just getting started.
